DCD reported that Takanock is proposing an 87-acre Project Tallmadge data center near Interstate 81 Exit 296 and the Mercury Paper facility, with a 180 MW campus and 400 MW of front-of-the-meter on-site natural-gas generation. The town/Takanock fact sheet says the industrial site is use-by-right, site planning and land acquisition began in 2024-2025, additional permitting and construction are anticipated in Q3 2027, and the project would use a near-waterless cooling design and natural-gas turbines.
