Current canonical record
This record tracks Monarch Data Center in Nevada.
Lyon County's July 14, 2026 Planning Commission agenda described a requested Planned Unit Development zone change for the Monarch Data Center: 4.6 million square feet, 1,000 MW, eight two-story buildings up to 95 feet tall, 500 MW of battery energy storage, 500 MW of natural-gas backup generation, a substation, high-voltage power lines, and accessory uses on two RR-20 parcels totaling 505.40 acres. Pizen Switch Times reported on July 15, 2026 that the Planning Commission voted 4-3 to recommend approval to the Board of Commissioners after extensive public comment, so the project is still in public-review/planned status rather than fully approved for construction.
