Pahrump Valley Times reported that before Nye County's June 2026 temporary moratorium on processing new data center applications, the Blackjack Data Center had already been filed as a Pahrump-area proposal. It had not secured full county approval as of the July 15, 2026 article. Nye County scheduled a July 25 forum and an August 4 hearing on Bill No. 2026-11, which would prohibit data centers in Nye County communities without elected town boards.
