Current canonical record

10 three-story buildings on 155 acres; investment estimates range from $2.7-4 billion at full buildout

After the prior June 15 research snapshot, Westfield's City Council unanimously approved a one-year data center moratorium on July 6, 2026, and the mayor reportedly signed it the next day. Reporting says the pause is not expected to stop the already approved Servistar project, but it confirms the project is still not under construction and faces a changed local and state policy environment. A July 14 Boston Globe report described the project as a $4 billion, 10-building campus requiring 274 MW at full buildout; it also reported that the needed substation could take about five years, while Servistar co-owner Paul Corey said the project can satisfy Governor Healey's new data center requirements. Earlier July reporting also said the project must obtain a Planning Board time extension before its current permit expires in October 2026 and complete an ISO New England interconnection study and developer-funded substation before completion.
