Current canonical record

This record tracks STAK Energy Campus in Alaska.

Alaska DNR issued a May 12, 2026 preliminary decision proposing a 50-year negotiated lease for STAK's commercial natural gas-powered high-performance computing campus near Dalton Highway Milepost 390, after no competitive-interest expressions were received. The revised application/development plan describes about 715.4 acres, approximately 1 GW of on-site natural-gas generation, construction and major permitting planned to begin in summer 2026, initial operations targeted for late 2028, a peak construction workforce up to 1,500, about 60 permanent operating staff, and approximately $500 million for site evaluation/preparation, engineering, gravel road and pad construction, and initial camp/support infrastructure.
