Current canonical record
This record tracks Raeden Gibraltar McLouth Steel Data Center in Michigan.
Raeden proposed a 100 MW inference data center at the former McLouth Steel industrial/Superfund site at 27800 W. Jefferson Ave. Gibraltar City Council passed a one-year data center moratorium on March 9, 2026, creating a potential roadblock, but Raeden was moving forward with a community meeting. The project would use an existing industrial building, include natural-gas generation and a closed-loop cooling system, use about 600 gallons of water per day according to Raeden's COO, and employ an estimated 60 to 200 people.
