Project Timeline
Current canonical record
Largest Meta data center to date globally. Custom-designed campus spanning 11 buildings across 2,250 acres on former Franklin Farm megasite, ~30 miles east of Monroe.
On July 13, 2026, Louisiana Economic Development and Meta announced a major expansion of the Richland Parish/Hyperion project: Meta now describes the campus as more than a $50 billion investment, nearly 10 million square feet, and 5 GW of compute capacity. LED said the project is expected to support 7,500 peak construction jobs and about 1,000 operational jobs, with more than $1.6 billion already contracted with Louisiana companies. Meta said the expansion includes more than $1 billion in local infrastructure improvements for roads, water, and wastewater systems and that its Entergy agreement will fund seven new gas-fueled plants, three grid-scale batteries, nuclear uprates, and purchased power. This materially supersedes the prior $10B+/2 GW canonical values.
