South Dakota Searchlight reported that, after state lawmakers rejected data-center tax incentives, Applied Digital Vice President Nick Phillips said the 430 MW, $5 billion Toronto-area campus "doesn't make sense at this time" and that the company's agreement on the land near Toronto was up for renewal soon and would be allowed to lapse. The company could revisit South Dakota depending on future elections and power availability.
